Nicole is a seasoned solicitor and expert in public liability and workers’ compensation (state and federal). Admitted in early 2004, Nicole has over 15 years’ experience on ‘both sides’ (practicing in the plaintiff and defendant insurance space as well as in-house roles).
Nicole joined the firm in mid-2019 to help establish HBA’s Melbourne presence, coming from the in-house legal team at Woolworths Group as a Senior Solicitor. Prior to joining Woolworths, Nicole spent several years with Catholic Church Insurances and Thomson Lawyers.
Nicole attended Monash University and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Sociology Major). She is a member of Australian Insurance Law Association and the Law Institute of Victoria. Nicole is fluent in Greek.
At HBA, Nicole delivers comprehensive and timely claim service advice and management to insurers and self-insured companies across a range of matters involving Victorian workers’ compensation, federal workers’ compensation and public liability (personal injury) matters. She is also experienced in veterans and military compensation, dispute resolution, general insurance and institutional sexual abuse claims.
From complex multi-defendant litigation to minor ‘slip and trip’ cases, Nicole has significant Court experience and has regularly appeared before the County Court and the AAT for mediations, directions hearings and interlocutory applications.
Her knowledge and experience dealing with end-to-end liability claims is second to none. She is an advocate of alternative dispute resolution and has extensive experience dealing with sensitive claims attracting heightened media attention and scrutiny.
