Courtney is a commercial litigator with experience across a range of industries including mining, construction, retail, health and government.

Courtney joined HBA in 2021 after 13 years with Ashurst Australia.

 

Expertise

Courtney has experience in large commercial disputes including significant government projects, primarily in the building, construction and mining industries.

She also has significant experience acting in workplace incidents, workers’ compensation and public liability claims.  Courtney is a trusted adviser to clients from the first incident or dispute arising until the litigation concludes. Along the way, she assists clients with negotiating early agreements/settlements, contract negotiations, witness interviews, risk management and assessment, review of policies and procedures, training staff and then managing all aspects of litigation in the aftermath of incidents, including the claims that flow for breach of contract and indemnities, business interruption, property damage, public liability and workers’ compensation, Her most high-profile cases include large scale incidents at mine sites, fatalities on building sites, large scale force majeure, building collapse and subsidence claims.
