Courtney has nearly a decade’s experience working in law firms both in Perth the UK.  In the UK, she was involved in the defence of large industrial class actions brought against the National Health Service.  She worked closely with both clients and barristers, advising on liability and quantum, preparing for litigation, negotiating settlements and undertaking advocacy.

In Australia since 2013, Courtney has excelled as a paralegal within insurance, commercial adjudication, dust diseases and workplace relations.  Since joining HBA Legal in early 2015, she has supported solicitors in state workers’ compensation, federal workers’ compensation, public and product liability and motor vehicle matters.

Courtney graduated from WA’s Murdoch University in December 2017, and was admitted to the Supreme Court of WA on June 2018


Courtney has been a key member of HBA’s State Workers Compensation since joining the business, including working on matters referred by the Insurance Commission of WA. She has a sound understanding of the Act, affording precise and focussed briefing of experts, and drafting for Conciliation and Arbitration, applications and settlement deeds.  She is highly proficient in drafting briefs, advices, defences and interrogatories, and undertaking extensive discovery.
