Prior to joining HBA in 2020, Amy’s background was in motor, public liability and workers’ compensation. Today, Amy’s focus is defending public liability claims across a range of sectors.
Having started her career advocating for plaintiffs, and now focused on the defendant space, Amy is skilled at being able to see what is potentially coming from the ‘other side’.
Before joining HBA, Amy worked at Shine Lawyers where she completed a clerkship program in the medical negligence team. She then stayed on as a paralegal before entry into the Shine Graduate Program.
Within HBA’s corridors, Amy is known for her skill in thorough legal research and confident advocacy. She drafts court documents for litigated proceedings in various jurisdictions throughout Australia, undertakes extensive discovery, as well as prepares briefs to Counsel, medical practitioners and other experts.
She is dedicated and driven, having worked full-time and volunteered at not-for-profit firms while simultaneously completing her Bachelor of Laws from Griffith University (completed in early 2018).
Amy is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
